our commitment
Madame Olivia is committed to making madameoliviamiami.com usable for everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We believe accessibility is part of hospitality, not separate from it. We design and build with that in mind, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a one time checklist.
standard we target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 AA is the most widely accepted standard for digital accessibility and is the standard most U.S. courts and federal agencies look to when evaluating ADA web compliance.
what we have done and tested
As of the date above, we have done the following:
- Run automated accessibility scans (axe-core) against every public page on the site, and we address the issues they surface.
- Reviewed color contrast against WCAG 2.1 AA targets and adjusted brand colors where needed to improve contrast.
- Confirmed every page has a unique title and a single primary heading.
- Confirmed every image has descriptive alt text or is marked as decorative when appropriate.
- Confirmed every interactive element (button, link, icon) has an accessible name.
- Confirmed forms have visible labels associated with their inputs.
- Provided a "Skip to main content" link on every page.
- Provided visible keyboard focus indicators throughout the site.
- Set the page language to English on every page so screen readers pronounce text correctly.
known limitations
We want to be honest about what we have not yet covered:
- Our online ordering experience is provided by Toast, a third party. Toast controls the accessibility of that interface. If you encounter a barrier in the Toast checkout, please contact us and we will work with Toast to resolve it, and in the meantime we are happy to take your order by phone at (305) 646-1421.
- We have not yet completed a formal manual screen reader audit by an external accessibility specialist. We plan to schedule one and will update this statement when it is complete.
- Some embedded social media content (for example, Instagram or TikTok previews) is rendered by the social platform and may not always meet our standards. We provide alternative paths to the same information whenever possible.
browsers and assistive technology
The site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on desktop, iOS, and Android. It is built to support common assistive technologies including VoiceOver on Apple devices, TalkBack on Android, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, and standard browser zoom up to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality.
report a barrier
If you run into anything on our site that is hard to use, we want to hear from you. Please include the page address and a short description of what happened. We will respond as quickly as we can and we will work to fix the issue.
Email admin@madameoliviamiami.com, call (305) 646-1421, or send a note through our contact page.
updates to this statement
We will update this statement when we make meaningful changes to the site or to our accessibility practices. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
